Swachh Bharat Abhiyan or clean India campaign was launched on 2nd october, 2014 by the prime minister with the pious object to make our country clean. He chose the birth anniversary of the father of the nation to launch the five-year drive. The campaign created a huge sensation among the countrymen when the prime minister himself wielded a broom to clean a road in new Delhi. Eminent personalities from different walks of life participated in India's biggest ever cleanliness drive. This is a national level campaigh to clean India covering 4,041 towns and cities. Millions of people including government employees, students and teachers have taken part ni this movement. However, a change in the attitude of people needed to keep our surroundings clean and hygienic.
