One of the first places we went after my return to the USA was this magnificent little waterfall near Yacolt, Washington. Yacolt Falls is in Moulton Falls Regional Park - named for the nearby Moulton Falls. (I will share pictures of that one soon.)

Yacolt Falls is located on Yacolt Creek (converged with Big Tree Creek) about 1/4 mile upstream from its confluence with the East Fork of the Lewis River in Clark County, Washington. Just above the falls, you can see here there is an unnamed tributary which joins in at this waterfall. Yacolt Falls spills about 28 feet in these pictures. The pool below then spills into another smaller tier under the swinging footbridge (which is normally closed in the winter.)

In practice, this waterfall is sometimes confused with Moulton Falls, for which the park is named. Moulton Falls is a little ways downstream and is less spectacular (in my opinion.) There is a footpath which joins the two waterfalls, which is worth the fresh air.
