On an unplanned side trip from Baguio, we went to visit a friend's vegetable plantation somewhere in Atoc. It was summertime when we went to Baguio and it was not that cold there, so they say we should go there to really experience the coldness. And they are also bragging about this Highest Point in the Philippines which has an elevation of 7,400 feet above sea level. So off we go. Seven cars in convoy with drivers who are first-timers in driving mountainous areas, we reached the farm in more than five hours. We went to the Highest Point located in Barangay Paoay along Halsema Highway which also known as the Benguet-Mountain Province Road, Baguio-Bontoc Road or Mountain Trail) in the Municipality of Atoc. This national highway, at its highest point at 2,300 meters above sea level, is the highest altitude highway in the Philippines.
