Good day to all Steemians! Just would like to share with you a glimpse of my Avon life. Avon has always been a part of our lives as a family. My Mom joined Avon when she was still in college and has been with the company for more or less 35 years now. When she and my Dad got married and have kids, they decided to have one of their children be named after Avon, and that's where I got my name.
I joined Avon when I was in high school as a Franchise Dealer at first. I sell products to my teachers, classmates, schoolmates and friends. It was fun because I earn money on my own. When I was on my last year of college, I started building my own group as a Sales Leader. Now I don't just sell products. Instead I am sharing the earning opportunity with others by inviting them to join Avon. After I graduated college, I chose this as my career. And for ten years now, I am happy with what I have become and who I am now with the help of this company.
Once a year, Avon's creme de la creme gather to the most glamorous event of the year, the Congress Gala Night, to celebrate with fine food, entertainment and awarding ceremony. The event is attended by President's Club Members, Top Executives and hosted by Avon's General Manager.
The prestigious Albee Award is presented during this event. To recognize exemplary performance, the Albee statuette is given to only 30 awardees nationwide whose commitment and passion to their Avon business continue to flourish. Last 2015, I had the honor to be one of the awardees.
Persis Foster Eames Albee, also known as PFE Albee, was an American businessperson and entrepreneur. She was a professional saleswoman for the California Perfume Company, which later became Avon Products, and is considered the first Avon Lady due to her successful marketing techniques and her recruiting and training of other sales personnel. She was a pioneer in getting women to become financially independent. - Wikipedia
The 2015 Albee Statuette
My Mom's Albee Statuette way back 1994.
She was once an awardee also. Well, actually not just once did she qualify for the award. Unfortunately, we lost some of the statuettes to Super Typhoon Haiyan.
We are honored and proud to be part of this "company that puts mascara on lashes and food on tables, that fights wrinkles with one hand and Breast Cancer with the other. That knows the value of a perfect lip, but still opens its mouth and speaks out against Domestic Violence and for women’s financial independence. This is the company that not only brings beauty to doors, but also opens them. The company that supports 6 million Representatives in over 100 countries. This is Avon. The company, that for 125 years, has stood for beauty, innovation, optimism and above all for women."
