Akiles is the youngest of my male cats, he is a kitten with a very strong character since he was little he has always been restless, active, loves home made food and very affectionate, he is very attached to Greta one of the other kittens of the herd, since a few years ago Akiles has experienced several health problems, you could say that one after the other, so today I want to dedicate this publication to my skinny Akiles.

Akiles is about 4 years old, he was rescued from certain death, he was already taken away from his mother when he needed or depended completely on his mother's milk, he was raised with formula and although they managed to save his life, his immune system is not as strong as the one of a cat that enjoyed his mother's milk, so, although here at home he has been cared for and vaccinated before his first year of age, he has suffered from several diseases.

The first disease he suffered from was Rhinotracheitis, a very common disease in places where there are a lot of cats, here in the urbanization there was not, but some cat brought it and now there are several with symptoms of this disease, besides his low immune system, this disease affected the respiratory tract and besides causing snot in some cats, produces conjunctivitis, this last one was that affected Akiles who after being cured and a subsequent fight was very bad to the point that he almost had to be intervened.

In the same way, after taking more than a month for Akiles' eyes to recover completely and when he seemed to be well, I noticed that he had lost a lot of weight and that he was constantly hungry and never stopped, besides always looking for warmth, so after listing all the symptoms to the vet, he told me that it was pertinent to perform an examination to rule out haemobartonella.

Now, after performing this test, the suspicions were confirmed and a treatment protocol was started, but even so, Akiles does not gain weight although he eats well, although I had already been warned that this pathology will be latent in him, for life and can be activated again in some moment of stress, in itself this is already delicate without counting that not seeing him gain weight, I have been recommended to rule out through a test that I have leukemia or feline AIDS.

Therefore, although I am afraid of the result that this test may give, I think that for love to him and to all the herd, I must look for the way to do it as soon as possible, to know what actions to take, although I have the hope that the result is negative since he does not lose his playful spirit and of dominant and intense kitten.

Akiles es el mas chico de mis gatos machos, es un gatito con un carácter muy fuerte desde pequeño siempre ha sido inquieto, activo y amante de la comida casera y muy cariñoso, el es muy apegado a Greta una de las otras cachorras de la manada, desde hace un años Akiles ha experimento de varios problemas de salud, se podría decir que uno detrás del otro, así que hoy deseo dedicare esta publicación a mi flaquito Akiles.

Akiles tiene aproximadamente 4 años, fue rescatado de una muerte segura, ya fue alejado de su madre cuando necesita o dependía por completo de la leche materna, fue criado con formula y aunque lograron salvar su vida, su sistema inmune no es tan fuerte como el de un gato que disfruto de la leche materna, así, aunque aquí en casa se le ha cuidado y se le vacuno antes de su primer año de edad, ha padecido de varias enfermedades.

La primera enfermedad que padeció fue Rinotraqueitis una enfermedad muy común en lugares en los que habitan grandes cantidades de gatos, aquí en la urbanización no la había, pero algún gato la trajo y ahora hay varios con síntomas de esta enfermedad, además de su sistema inmune bajo, esta enfermedad afecto las vías respiratorias y además de ocasionar mocos en algunos gatos, produce conjuntivitis, esta ultima fue que afecto a Akiles quien tras curarse y una posterior pelea se vio muy mal al punto de que casi tuvo que ser intervenido.

De la misma manera, luego tardar más de un mes en que los ojos de Akiles se recuperaran por completo y cuando ya parecía estar bien note que había bajado mucho de peso y que tenia un hambre constante que nunca cesaba, además de estar buscando siempre calor, así que tras enumerar todos los síntomas al veterinario, me señalo que era pertinente realizar un examen para descartar haemobartonella.

Ahora bien, tras realizar este examen, se confirmaron las sospechas y se comenzó un protocolo de tratamiento, pero aun así, Akiles no gana peso aunque come bien, aunque ya me habían advertido que esta patología estará latente en él, de por vida pudiendo volver a activarse en algún momento de estrés, de por si esto ya es delicado sin contar que al no ver que suba de peso, me han recomendado descartar mediante un examen el que tengo leucemia o SIDA felino.

Por consiguiente, aunque me da temor el resultado que esta prueba pueda dar, creo que por amor a él y a toda la manada, debo buscar la manera de hacerlo lo mas pronto posible, por saber que acciones tomar, aunque tengo la esperanza de que el resultado sea negativo ya que el no pierde su espíritu juguetón y de gatito dominante e intenso.
