Esta obra representó un antes y un después en mi vida personal. Comunmente es eso lo que pasa al interpretar un personaje, pero lo peculiar de esta fue su temática. Llevó por nombre "Almas al Desnudo" y como su eslogan mencionaba; "desnudarán más que sólo sus cuerpos...*". Y es que cada personaje bien tenía una orientación sexual distinta. Cada uno, usando el humor, el erotismo, el show... Poco a poco iba desnudando su alma; mostrando los obstáculos que tuvo que romper para aceptarse tal cuál es. Algo que ocurre mucho en la vida real.
This work represented a before and after in my personal life. Usually that is what happens when playing a character, but what was peculiar about this was its theme. It took by name "Almas al Naked" and as its slogan mentioned; "will bare more than just their bodies...*". And it is that each character had a different sexual orientation. Each one, using humor, eroticism, the show ... Little by little he was stripping his soul; showing the obstacles that he had to break to accept himself as he is. Something that happens a lot in real life.
Todas estas historias ampliaron mi perspectiva hacia las personas con una orientación sexual distinta a lo socialmente aceptado. Innegablemente, cada personaje, con su texto, iba ilustrando al público los traumas de su vida y este podía entender el porqué de su preferencia sexual. Pero también es cierto que muchos reflejaban una orientación innata. Todo esto me hizo reflexionar mucho, pues crecí en un círculo familiar algo rígido respecto a estos temas, y podría decirse que me fue inculcado cierto nivel de homofobia. Aunado a todo esto, los personajes que me tocó interpretar fueron "Jason - El Sadomasoquista" y "Jhonny Lee - El Swinger". Dos temas bastante interesantes y muy populares en la actualidad, y sin lugar a dudas, con lecciones sobre tabúes que necesitaba en aquel entonces y sigo analizando en estos tiempos.
All these stories broadened my perspective towards people with a sexual orientation other than what is socially accepted. Undeniably, each character, with his text, was illustrating to the public the traumas of his life and this could understand the reason for his sexual preference. But it is also true that many reflected an innate orientation. All this made me think a lot, because I grew up in a somewhat rigid family circle regarding these issues, and it could be said that a certain level of homophobia was instilled in me. In addition to all this, the characters that I played were "Jason - The Sadomasochist" and "Jhonny Lee - The Swinger". Two quite interesting and very popular topics today, and without a doubt, with lessons on taboos that I needed back then and continue to analyze these days.
Hoy me encuentro agradecido por haber formado parte de este elenco, incluso los dos que formaron parte de este proyecto, al menos mientras estuve en él. Esta obra amplió mi visión respecto a estos temas y ciertamente me hizo más humano. Gracias a mi amigo Eliezerd Calderón por llevarme aquel día para que lo suplantara porque se iría del país, pero como cosa del destino su viaje llevó más tiempo del pensado, abriendo la oportunidad de crear mi propio monólogo y llevarlo al escenario. Gracias a mi director Rafael Calleja, quien también se volvió un gran amigo, por la oportunidad de formar parte de su equipo de trabajo y la confianza de permitirme mostrar un personaje creado por mí.
- Today I am grateful to have been part of this cast, even the two who were part of this project, at least while I was in it. This work broadened my vision of these issues and certainly made me more human. Thanks to my friend Eliezerd Calderón for taking me that day to supplant him because he was leaving the country, but as a matter of destiny, his trip took longer than expected, opening up the opportunity to create my own monologue and take it on stage. ¡Gracias a todo el elenco!🙏🏼 ¡Realmente a todos! De verdad aprendí mucho y no sólo de sus personajes. Se les aprecia enormemente. Hasta ahora he rechazado la oferta de volver a representar estos personajes dos veces, por varias razones. La más tonta, es creer que ya no tengo nada que aprender de los mismos, cosa que he visto que es un error. Y ya saben lo que dicen, al hacer un personaje algo de él queda en ti y viceversa. Tal vez la tercera sea la vencida. 😉
Thanks to all the cast! 🙏🏼 Really everyone! I really learned a lot and not only from his characters. They are greatly appreciated. So far I have turned down the offer to reenact these characters twice, for various reasons. The most stupid is to believe that I no longer have anything to learn from them, which I have seen to be a mistake. And you know what they say, when making a character something of him remains in you and vice versa. Maybe the third is the charm.😉
