Bienvenidos a mi blog, queridos hivers ❤️✨
Welcome to my blog, dear hivers ❤️✨
Hello to all this beautiful blue community. It's my first time posting in this community and I thought it was a good opportunity to do it through the second activity proposed by the wonderful team of
💙 where we are asked to talk about some series or movie about Autism, which makes us understand it more or left some learning or significant imprint on us.
In particular, I don't have any family members or close acquaintances with this condition, but I have always categorized them as gifted and big-hearted humans ❤️ because of certain experiences I have had with people with this condition in the past. Inclusively, I was recently in the supermarket with my husband and there was a girl, a worker of his, with autism. She was wearing her neat uniform and a name tag and the girl was very polite and diligent doing her job, aspects that I consider very relevant because nowadays, other human beings find it hard to be polite, especially here in Spain that have left me with a good morning on the tip of my tongue. She did say good morning and smiled at me and I returned her nice greeting with a lot of empathy and we engaged in a small conversation. But since politeness does not take away from bravery, my politeness comes first even if it is not reciprocated.
The Good Doctor 🩺💉🩸
Today I want to talk to you and invite you to watch a series that I love. It is called "The Good Doctor", starring Freddie Highmore, an actor that I think is exceptional and splendid since he characterizes his characters very well on the screen. He is one of my favorite actors since he has starred in another series that I loved called "Bates Motel".
In this fantastic series, actor Freddie Highmore plays the role of Shaun Murphy, an illustrious autistic surgeon with a very relevant aspect in his personality: he is a know-it-all, who is recruited to do his residency at the prestigious St. Bonaventure Hospital in San Jose, California. Murphy must overcome the skepticism and prejudice of the team of doctors and colleagues who accompany him because they do not believe he can do a neat job in the medical field.
Murphy did not have a nice childhood, his father mistreated him because he did not accept or understand his condition. His younger brother, Steve, tired of the abuse and mistreatment from his father, decides it is time to run away from home and go on a journey together, where they live in an abandoned school bus and fend for themselves. But it's not all fantasy, because one day Steve and Shaun go into an abandoned garage to play with other kids. They are hiding and Steve thinks it's a good idea to climb on the roof of a bus to do so. As he goes, he loses his balance, falls and dies instantly. Shaun witnesses this and loses one of the people he loves the most and has loved and cared for him unconditionally.
After this bad episode in his life, the good Samaritan, Dr. Aaron Glassman, takes him under his wing because he sympathizes with the series of unfortunate events he has suffered in the past and sees in Shaun a keen interest in medicine from a young age. Growing up, Shaun develops Savant Syndrome, which is a kind of super ability that allows him to demonstrate superior intelligence and through his visual-spatial memory to see qualities in people and symptoms in patients beyond a superficial diagnosis. With little tact but with magnificent sincerity, Shaun learns to gradually earn the respect of his colleagues and become a valued member of the team of doctors at this prestigious hospital.
This series consists of 5 seasons of 20 episodes each, with the exception of seasons 1 and 2 which have 18 episodes, respectively. I'm just finishing the first season🤭 and I find it an exceptional series, without any waste. As I mentioned before, I consider that people with this condition of Autism have an exceptional intelligence and are capable of achieving many goals as any human being. I consider myself a very empathetic and emotional person, and realizing that a space is opening up for them in this society I consider it fair and very valuable, as in the case of the supermarket worker I mentioned above. These people with Autism are a great contribution of value and learning for our society. They teach us to be more patient, careful with details, methodical and super organized.
