Talent is the special ability to do something well,it is an ability that we are born with, it comes freely. Some people have more than one talent, talent enables one to do things that others find difficult easy and without stress.

WHAT IS TALENT TO YOU?

I have given you the definition of talent but now am asking what talent is to you, just like the way Jesus asked his disciples "who do you think I am?"
Is talent to you something you make do with when bored?
Is talent to you a gift that doesn't need attention?
One of the most neglected area of our lives is talent. People would rather pursue skills or profession that has nothing to do with their talent, you would see someone that is very good at sculptural art,having sleepless nights,learning electrical work. This is one of the reasons people see Monday as the worst day of the week,their working place is horror to them, they leave what they have in built and pursue what they dread.

I once saw a beautiful art work made by a friend among things that look like trash, it was such a beautiful drawing, I picked it up and asked how he got it and to my upmost surprise, I found out that it was his work. "Leave that thing jare, I just played with my pencil one day when I was bored", that was his statement. really? Just played? This is someone that begs for transport fee to go for interviews. Many people have come to believe that art work, writing and some other talents can not afford to put food on the table but how true is that?

GROWTH COMES FROM BUILDING ON TALENTS

What you do with your talent can go a long way in shaping your financial status for good and make you successful. Take a look at the world today,there are people that do well in fields they got no talent in,what more when you put in your time and efforts in shaping your inbuilt talent to something good,it's just like planting in a soil that has great natural fertiliser.

The negligence of talent is mostly common in Africa, everyone wants their child to be an Engineer, Doctor, Pilot or Lawyer. If you want to rekindle your dreams of success and significance,you have to dispose that ideology into the waste bin and start paying attention to your talent. Make some discoveries,try out new things, put in innovation and creativity, attend seminars in that area,explore that talent of yours. You can't be an employee through out your life time,you can't spend the rest of your life building another persons dream,that's not your purpose on earth.

I am not asking you to quit your job,am not asking you to drop out of school, am saying you should wake up and get something doing with your talent. It wasn't given to you for fancy, it's not something you store or use at pleasure, it's something that can make you. Stop giving it out for free and disvalueing it,it's no cheap commodity.

I thank God for Steemit, I have seen so many testimonies here on how Steemit helped people dig out their talent, am a living witness too, Steemit has helped me to pay attention to the aspect of life I thought didn't really matter, it has helped me add value to peoples life and also enjoy that of others and the beautiful thing is that we all get rewarded.
