I took some photos in Tampere city centre.
Tammerkoski rapid from Hämeensilta bridge.
A view southward from the same bridge.
Keskustori ( = central market square). City Hall on the right.
Factory buildings from the 19th century. A view northward from Satakunta bridge to the north of Hämeensilta bridge.
Inside the building on the left in the previous picture, there are offices and a shopping centre.
From a bridge for pedestrians and cyclists toward the south. Hotel Torni happens to be aligned with the rapid.
From the same bridge northward. You can see a glimpse of Lake Näsijärvi.
As you can see the current is quite strong. The building on the right is a new residential building.
This building is Aleksanterin palatsi that belonged to the von Nottbeck family who owned and managed a cotton mill in the city centre founded by the Scottish industrialist James Finlayson. There is a restaurant in the building. There are tables in the garden. The building and the garden are right next to the bridge the previous pictures were taken on. A perfect venue for a meal or just a drink.
