Another "Tuesday" post done on Wednesday... but that's where I found the time this week.
I'm taking you along with me as I create a new card deck for myself. I will create it with an American Indian theme as I did once before. What is Lenormand? - check out my previous article.
Card 9 - Flowers
The original card is the Bouquet, but that's definitely a less American Indian than the simpler concept of flowers.
This card also caused me a bit of a dilemma because flowers were often seen more in the healing or craft realm and less about happiness as the the Bouquet is meant to mean. However, I did feel that enough of the original meaning remains, so I stuck with the Flowers.
When we think of the bouquet, we tend to think of:
- happiness (think weddings, gifts, greetings)
- small gifts, small joys and rewards, little pleasures
- luck, success, good things in general
- healing or continued good health
For more information on what this card means, check out Lenormand1's interpretation - for combining the Flowers (or Bouquet) with any other card, check out the site: Learn Lenormand
For my new card, For my new card, I hit Google Images search, looking for something with CC0 (Creative Commons 0) licensing meaning that I don't always have to remember to credit someone - essential if I were to start doing paid readings with these cards.
I also had to find out which traditional playing card is associated with this card. So, here is my result:
(Base image source: Public Domain Pictures)
I chose this image for the pottery more than any other part of the picture. This flower reminds me of sunflowers which are an important part of Native culture, used for food and dye. They're also very sunny in their very disposition, following the sun throughout the day. This isn't a sunflower, but it's similar enough that I was willing to forgive the fact it's not quite right.
Note: Readings are entertainment only (legally). You are in charge of your own destiny.
