Tasteem Review, Evergreen Restaurant, Donggongon

This restaurant which is called Evergreen Restaurant is located in Donggongon Town. I used to come here about once a week while waiting for my laundry to finish which was a few shops away.

It opens daily from 7.00am till 10.00pm and a very convenient place to have either breakfast, lunch or dinner. I took my wife for lunch there a few weeks ago.

We were not sure what to eat as I wanted something simple and something that I never had from that restaurant. The waitress who took our order recommended Deep Fried Pork with Salted Egg and Bitter Gourd cooked with Salted Black Beans. I thought it was ok, so we went with the recommendations.

This Deep Fried Pork with Salted Egg is so crispy and delicious. You can even taste the Salted Egg mixed in its batter to coat the Sliced Pork. I think it will tasted better if the dish is bit wet. The dryness of the dish somehow overcame much of its taste.

The Bitter Gourd cooked with Salted Black Beans is really good. The saltyness, the bitterness and a bit of sweetness suits my taste very well. Mixed it with rice and a bit of chilly paste / sauce, wow, it really tasted good.

As for drinks, since it was a hot sunny day, we both ordered Iced Lemon Tea to refresh and quench our thirst.

While waiting for our order, I went to look around and snapped a few pictures of the place. There are a few Menu Banners that was being displayed .

There are few dishes that I never tasted before, maybe I should try it next time on my next visit.

The tables are arranged mostly outside of the shop lot as you can see from the pictures below. This area will be filled with customers especially from 7pm onwards.

As a conclusion:-

This restaurant serves a lot of menus, just ask for it and they will surely find a way to cook it for you.

Their staffs are friendly too, but too shy when I pointed a camera towards them. They will ran off or cover their faces and giggles.

The price of the food is reasonably cheap and the portion that was cooked for us is enough for 3 adults.

For you guys who are around this area next time, check out this restaurant. I recommend you come at night as there are BBQ stalls that only opens at night. You can order and have it inside the restaurant as well.
