Szentendre is a really cosy city 30km from the Hungarian capital Budapest. Lots of tourists travel here to get a breath of fresh air, and to see a city very different from the capital itself. You might not need several days here, but a couple of hours is recommended.

During my recent visit to Szentendre, I decided to eat a meal in the restaurant of the Wine museum. This is located in the middle of the popular street Bogdanyi ut. It is a very nice restaurant, and it also has a big wine museum in the cellar. They have all sorts of traditional Hungarian meals on the menu, but I decided to grab a salad and a strudel for dessert instead.
The main course was a salad, almost Ceasar salad style, but with sesame seeds on the chicken. It was really delicious, as you most likely will see from the cover photo as well.
The dessert was a sour cherry strudel with vanilla ice served next to it. It was really delicious, and the mixture of the hot strudel and the cold ice was a real winner.
It isn't my first time in the restaurant, but the chef still manages to surprise and to show great skills during every visit. The price level of the restaurant is just average, meaning that the main courses will cost you between 5-10 Euro (in general).
Do not forget, if you want to learn much more about Hungarian wine production and more importantly, taste Hungarian wine, try to get yourself a tour with tasting as you visit the place.
