If you want cheap but satisfying all you can eat samgysupsal or samgyeopsal or samgyeopsal-gui (grilled pork belly), then come to Nare Samgyupsal. This is a popular Korean style of cooking that is embraced by the locals as part of their own. Korean culture has become part of Baguio City. Korean invasion? Nay, more like immersion, infusion, participation and adaption. That's why you can find a lot of Korean stores here in this city and they are flourishing.
Nare Samgyupsal is spacious as it occupied mainly the whole floor. The open-space manner is but apt as it gave enough room for the smoke to circulate and disperse. Also, the arrangement of the tables is efficient for customers in getting their food.
The choices of food is placed at the center. They are not as plenty as one my favorite Korean Restaurant Buffet but what is served is ample enough to satisfy you. What's important is that the essentials are there: meat and side dish. They also have bulgogi or marinated pork which is another dish to be grilled. There's kimchi which is a staple side dish that goes well with samgyupsal. They even have highland vegetable salad and fresh lumpia.
They have different condiments to choose from that you can flavors of your choosing. They have green peppers and garlic that you can grill as well.
What you do is grill the pork and add a little bit of everything - kimchi, pepper, garlic, and roll it in lettuce (romain) and dip in chili paste. You can also just dip the meat in sesame oil with salt and pepper and chili paste and eat with rice. Most of the times, I don't eat rice anymore but if there is gimbap (rice roll), then I might have a few pieces, which, at Nare, they do have. I was pleased. They even have egg rolls. Solved!
Here at Nare, the cut of pork is not as thin as some places so it takes longer to cook. Other than that, there's nothing more you can ask for. An eat all you can on a budget that is cheap. The few choices they have is actually good because it will make you concentrate and enjoy what samgyeopsal-gui really is.
Aside from food, they also offer drinks but those are charged separately. They also have other meals that you can request or order and again, they are of separate charge.
I am not updated with their price now but it was PHP280 then, around USD6. Worth every bit.
Nare Samgyupsal is located at Lower Ground Floor Pilando Building. This is a new business establishment and close to residential, schools and other business centers. It is conveniently located. They only accept cash and no wifi but who needs wifi when you are enjoying your meal. They open from 10:30 am to 11:00 pm.
