Negresco Café – A Steemfest 3 Special Tasteem Review

What’s better than when Hive account@tasteem issue a new review topic named ‘Beverages with friends’ and then you need to have a beverage to stop yourself being bored to tears while waiting for a plane to whisk you away from Krakow after SF3 is finished.

The Negresco Café is connected to the INX Design Hotel which was one of the ‘official’ hotels for Steemfest 3, and so yesterday, Hive account@bingbabe and I decided to go in and try some Baileys’ lattes before the taxi arrived.

The cafe does not open until 2pm in the afternoon and as it was just about this time, there was nobody to be seen besides us and Hive account@gillianpearce who later joined us for the taxi ride.

Besides drinks, the café does serve full meals too and looking at the menu there are steaks, pasta and all other kinds of food. We didn’t try the food but if we had known may have done so with it being so close.

The drinks were served promptly, one alcoholic and the other a non- alcoholic version. Can you guess which one is which looking at the layers?

The one on the right has some syrup at the base and so looks different on the bottom layer.

I had a sip of the alcohol one but it didn’t taste very potent. Several more sips, and the experience did not change.

Hive account@bingbabe suggested giving it a stir. OK, so that’s how you do it. I do love the taste of Bailey’s in coffee, but next time Hive account@slobberchops, will you give it a stir first if you want to experience something other than milk and sugar?

The Bailey’s latte came in at 16PZ and the non-alcohol one at 12PZ, PZ is short for Polish złoty. Considering 28PZ for both is around £5-6 English pounds or $7 I wouldn’t call it a bad deal.

For Poland I suppose this would be considered expensive, but as the place is attached to the INX you would expect that it will be in the upper price echelons somewhere.

As far as quality goes, the coffee was good and on the level with Starbucks or Costa. Of course they don’t sell alcohol versions, but the presentation of the product reminded me of what you get from Costa.

I know several other Steemians have frequented The Negreso Café, namely Hive account@shanibeer who I observed having a coffee at one point during the fest.
