Hello, tasteemers!
I made another blunder in this series. I felt that I should explain that mishap in this post before the review proper. Kim's Quest #8, my previous post, should be Kim's Taste #8 because Kim's Quest is for my travel posts. Kim's Taste series is for my food escapades that's exclusive for .
Anyway, let's just put that aside and continue with the usual reviews. This review will be Kim's Taste #9. This is about a place up in the highlands of Don Salvador Benedicto, Negros Occidental. The place is one of the few places I really wanted to go back to try other food and drinks in their menu.
Remember: If you happen to be in one of the restaurants in my review, we might have different preferences, as well as experiences, so our ratings might not be exactly the same.
By the way, I welcome you all to Kim's Taste #9! I have decided not to rate this place the same as my other reviews because I don't want to be confined to the numbers. I want to describe the place as much as I can. This place in review is Coffee Stop and Snack Hauz, one of the best stops along the highway in Don Salvador.
Let's start!
Together with my friends, we had a lovely joyride from Bacolod City going to Don Salvador. A place to stop and rest from that joyride is badly needed. Good thing the highway in the highlands of Don Salvador have places specifically catering that kind of need. One of those places is Coffee Stop and Snack Hauz.
Coffee Stop and Snack Hauz is located in KM 36, Brgy. Pandanon, Don Salvador Benedicto, Negros Occidental, Philippines. If you've been to Don Salvador, you know how magnificent that landscape is. Well, this cafe is situated along the highway which is also overlooking a river. At the other side are rice terraces which is another spectacle that Don Salvador can offer. I think you can already imagine how interesting the place is.
Their coffee is organic and is grown in the area. Since it's more of an artisanal coffee shop, you can expect organic beverages. Since I don't drink coffee, I ordered a chocolate drink which was also made from cacao beans that are grown in the area. I think majority of their drinks are homemade and organic.
I was really enjoying every sip of my chocolate drink. The view of the place is breathtaking, the atmosphere is cool compared to the city, the place is so chill, and you have friends to share that enjoyment with you, what more can you ask for?
If you're a coffee lover, you can sip your freshly brewed coffee while basking in the green landscapes and mountain view. Their furnitures are made of bamboo and the place is open space with a designated smoking area. The place is really cool, laid back, and spot on. I guess the photos will speak for themselves.
As for the price, it's really cheap. It's cheaper than in the city. For that quality and freshness, I would pay a premium price, but everything's so cheap. If you have Php 200.00 [~$4.00], you can already enjoy a meal and drink of your choice. My chocolate drink was only Php 40.00 [less than $1.00].
No need to elaborate more on the service. You know that the people in the province have this unparalleled hospitality. You will be treated not like a tourist, but as part of the family.
I guess that's all for my review. Please don't hesitate to comment anything that you want to express! Also, thank you in advance for showing some love by upvoting this post!
Note: All photos are mine unless otherwise stated.
See you in my next review!
Best Regards,
Kim
