Last day to get your entry in!! Brought to you by you can find out more here Source
I have many tattoos. I fell in love with them at a young age, and now that i think of it, i do not know what inspired my admiration of them. I was perhaps the first person in my entire (it's huge!) family to get one and no one i knew had one!! They were far from trendy when I was 14!! That's a loooong time ago. My source of entertainment at the time was music videos. Growing up on a farm at the end of the road in bfn Saskatchewan, videos were tough to come by. Luckily, gramma lived close and had satelitte. I recorded MTV onto VHS to bring home and watch over and over!! Haha
My first tattoo, i did the first aspects myself. With india ink i grabbed from school and a pin. Sat in my room and poked and dipped and poked and dipped! Haha, it was in reference to my boyfriend at the time, who happened to be 4 years older! And, it began.
Didn't take long, the guy faded away and i wanted a cover-up. Not an easy thing one would think! Being in the middle of nowhere, and 14! Enter, your friend Josh. Happily exclaiming he'd been tinkering and made a tattoo gun!! Showed me his new art he had done on himself. We grabbed some beers, he got to doodling and my first tattoo became a thing!
You can still see some of the original chicken scratch i did myself but i still think Josh nailed it with his handmade rig, a spoon, small motor from something and a 'fresh' jar of cattle tattoo ink. grin
Of course they all come with stories. The M was my first one done at a tattoo festival, the butterflies were done same festival different year.
Both pretty impromptu pieces.
Next, my second big piece, my forearm. Sadly, had to redo it. I got it just before May long weekend camping. For reference camping and new tattoos don't mix!!! It got very infected, turned green. The ink fell out. After a long healing period, i had it redone. It's one treasured piece #jesus
The last one today, is a piece i did for my cousin. He loved his truck! Sadly, he mysteriously passed away at 27 while he was sleeping. No known cause of death. But, he knew and told everyone he wouldn't live to 30. He lived life to the fullest, i babysat him tons when he was a baby. Anyone watching him would have to rub his back ALL night or he wouldn't sleep! When he was 10, i was 18, he took me to an AC/DC concert with him! Such a great memory. The plate on the truck says ac/dc not sure if u can make it out. 💜💛💚💙
Awe! So nice to reflect 💖 thank-you for the contest glad i made it under the wire!!
