Bon jour good people of the internet! Before I get into today’s intros, I want to say a massive THANK YOU to , who kindly delegated 1000SP to me this week so I could upvote worthy minnows in our community. This is a an amazing gesture and I will endeavour to use my power wisely. Mwahahaha...
Jokes aside, I have been taking my recruiter role VERY seriously. I have been diligently seeking out and contacting newbies and inviting them to join Team Australia.
So far I’ve reached out to 29 Aussies by leaving messages on their posts. I am also keeping a spreadsheet of who I’ve contacted so I don’t accidentally spam the same people over and over. Nobody wants that.
Plus you never know when you might get audited by centerlink. I wouldn’t want my benefits to be cut off from a lack of trying to find work.
Candidate 1
Name and bio
is the first Team Australia ambassador I am introducing from Utrecht in The Netherlands (Ah! Great country). It's not clear from the intro post if this person is male or female so I will use s/he as the pronoun.
loves Australia and has been here several times. S/he has danced with aborigines, surfed for the first time, enjoyed bonding with others around campfires (hopefully not during bushfire season), and high-fived kangaroos.
is really into travelling and one of the few people on the planet who's visited North Korea. S/he is a full time investor and wants to achieve financial independence by age 40.
Fun fact
“I became absolutely wasted in a North Korean bar, thinking I could drink the bar empty with a few pals. I didn't succeed”.
If getting totally shit-faced in a foreign pub doesn’t make you Aussie then I don’t know what does.
Candidate 2
Name and bio
is an electrical engineer from Melbourne. While at uni, he was invited to spend six months in Austria to build an electric snowmobile prototype, which sounds pretty fun.
is still trying to work out what he wants to do as an engineer but thinks it's normal for people to take a long time to figure out what they want from life (tell me about it). His best mate is a rottweiler-blue healer cross named Otto (I like to get blotto! Sorry. I couldn't resist making the obvious Simpsons joke there). His skills include airbrush art and growing an awesome hipster beard.
Fun Fact
“I'm an airbrush artist and hope to be able to spend more time doing it eventually”.
I checked some of your posts and you're really talented. Good luck with your goal.
Candidate 3
Name and bio
is a Sri Lankan born Australian citizen who was “raised by wolves (Stark direwolves?) and tamed by the wind". I don't know what this means but it sure sounds mysterious. He has lived in Sydney since he was four and is a biomedical engineer turned doctor turned photographer. Hmm, there seems to be a lot of engineers here at Team Australia.
believes that that if you can’t teach someone an idea or concept, you don’t truly understand it yourself. He is an avid snowboarder with his fastest speed recorded at an impressive 94.24km/hr. He also plays guitar, piano and drums.
Fun fact
“I have loads of teeth and hair, and brush both regularly”.
That’s good. Things could get messy pretty quickly if you didn’t.
, please add these fine upstanding citizens to Team Australia.
As usual, please go here and follow everyone that’s been added to Team Australia since you last checked. If your name is on this list, please do not ask me to introduce you. You are already part of the team.
Don't forget to check out , who is busy putting Aussie-battler tax dollars to work in the form of dole payments for your posts.
And finally check out the awesome Minnow Support Project here and here.
The Rules for joining Team Australia
If you’re not yet a member and want to be, this is what you need to do:
- Follow all the existing members @teamaustralia.
- Vote here for our resident steemit witness @ausbitbank.
- Comment below that you want to join.
- Link your introduction post so I can find out a bit about you. If you’re new to steemit you'll have to write one so use the introduceyourself tag to help boost your following.
- If it’s not mentioned in your introductory post, tell me which city and country you’re in, cos let's face it, a lot of us live in Australia's fourth largest city - London.
- If you’re not Aussie tell me why you should be a teamaustralia ambassador.
- Tell me a fun fact about yourself. This can be anything. For example, maybe you run a successful business, or you have eight kids and three dogs, or you rode your bike across Amercia, or you won the blue ribbon for javelin throwing at sports day back in high school, or Toadie came into the pub you work at one day and you served him a beer, or, maybe you can fit 55 maltesers in your mouth like Ed Sheeran can. It doesn’t matter what it is, I want a fun fact about you!
Once I receive this information I will try my best to write a good introductory paragraph about you for the official Team Australia membership updates. So the better your information is, the better I can make you sound.
Please use the teamaustralia and australia tags to promote your work. I will try and post weekly updates unless there is a lot of interest, in which case I will try and post sooner.
Ciao for now.
