Team Australia new recruits: update 26/06/17

Hello lovely readers and welcome to another Team Australia update. I must say, the interest in joining Team Australia is really picking up. This is either because of:

1. all the excellent teamaustralia posts that are reaching all corners of the steemit blockchain, or 
2. I am awesome at recruiting.

I'm just going to pretend it's the latter. Please don't burst my bubble.

I wasn’t going to do another update for a few days but I’m starting to hit a backlog and I don’t want this to stop being fun for me by turning into 'actual work'.

So without further ado, here are today’s candidates. 

Candidate 1

Name and bio

Hive account@yeshuafreak was born and raised in Nepal but moved to Australia about 12 years ago. He lives in Melbourne and loves it there. Hive account@yeshuafreak is a husband, father or two, and a full time investor. His hobbies include watching WWE and UFC, taking walks, photography, travel, food, and fitness. 

Fun fact

“Back in my teenage days I took violin lessons to impress girls then realised they are into guitarists!” 

#fail. Life lesson learned there I’m guessing.  

Candidate 2

Name and bio

Hive account@sammosk is from the east coast of “Death Island”. Hmm… really? Death Island? You know the top three causes of death in Australia are heart disease, dementia and stroke. I don't see “death by creature” on this list.

Maybe you’re looking at a different list. 😂

Hive account@sammosk has a diversified background in IT, telesales, carpentry, and wood machining. He is a creative writer and is doing quite well publishing poetry here on steemit. His other hobbies include reading, crypto, motorbikes, teaching and learning. 

Fun fact 

“I'm a motorbike riding, romance writing poet who just wants to spread freedom and love to all”. 

Well ok. That sounds very noble. Carry on. 

Candidate 3

Name and bio

Hive account@disl8r is a Queenslander who grew up in an unnamed “shit suburb” where he learnt from a young age that life can be pretty tough. He left home at 15 and has had several run-ins with the law. However, he acknowledges that everything he did in his younger years taught him valuable lessons that he is now grateful for.

Hive account@disl8r loves animals, fast cars and good food. He works as a cryptocurrency and precious metals investor.  

Fun fact

“I have glowing stars on my roof so when I look up at night it looks like I'm in space”.  

I’m not into cars but I would like one of those Rolls Royces with stars on the ceiling. Now that would be cool. 

Candidate 4

Name and bio

Hive account@turtler is from Sydney and is called "Turtler" because she’s been into turtles from a very young age (I love them too). Her biggest passion in life is conservation. She loves nature and recently completed a Bachelor of Science in Zoology.  

Hive account@turtler loves art and spends a lot of time painting, drawing, and doodling just because she can. Her other interests include reading, writing, playing video games (mostly sandbox/ survival types), science, cooking, gardening, camping, bush walking, swimming, and trading.

Fun fact  

“My favourite food is avocado but I am allergic to avocado”.  

I have a friend who says food allergies mean you’re just not trying hard enough. I think she’d be impressed with your efforts. 

Candidate 5

Name and bio

Hive account@markfitzgerald is a fashion, advertising and commercial photographer. He’s been creating professional images for five years and operates his own studio out of Melbourne. His work has two parts. The first is the glamorous world of fashion and art, which will be his focus on steemit. The other is corporate and commercial work, which obviously has commercial sensitivities meaning he can't go around posting stuff willy nilly.

Hive account@markfitzgerald is excited about what steemit could mean for creative types. When he’s not taking awesome photos – I checked out his Instagram and they’re all super good – he likes to play the drums. 

Fun fact 

“I wanted to learn to play the saxophone but Mum said it was too loud. So... Drums.”  

Ha! I bet she regretted that decision about two seconds after it came out of her mouth.

@sirknight, please add these fine upstanding citizens to Team Australia. Please also add @finance2nomad,  @jwmackay and @lenscape from the last update. I'm sure this has just slipped your mind since you're busy preparing for the Steem Wars but we can't let TeamGB get ahead of us.

If you’re not yet a member and want to be, this is what you need to do:

1. Follow all the existing members @teamaustralia.
2. Vote here for our resident steemit witness @ausbitbank.
3. Comment below that you want to join.
4. Link your introduction post so I can find out a bit about you. If you’re new to steemit you'll have to write one so use the introduceyourself tag to help boost your following.
5. If it’s not mentioned in your introductory post, tell me which city and country you’re in, cos let's face it, a lot of us live in Australia's fourth largest city - London.  
6. If you’re not Aussie tell me why you should be a teamaustralia ambassador. 
7. Tell me a fun fact about yourself. This can be anything. For example, maybe you run a successful business, or you have eight kids and three dogs, or you rode your bike across Amercia, or you won the blue ribbon for javelin throwing at sports day back in high school, or Toadie came into the pub you work at one day and you served him a beer, or, maybe you can fit 55 maltesers in your mouth like Ed Sheeran can. It doesn’t matter what it is, I want a fun fact about you!

Once I receive this information I will try my best to write a good introductory paragraph about you for the official Team Australia membership updates. So the better your information is, the better I can make you sound. Where relevant, please use the teamaustralia and australia tags to promote your work. I will try and post weekly updates unless there is a lot of interest, in which case I will try and post sooner.
