The 2019 Bush Fire season in Australia was one of the worst on record burning 46 Million acres and causing air quality to become hazardous in all southern and eastern states.
Upon seeing the devastating impacts I didn't hesitate to put my hand up to help.
I spent many months travelling the state of Victoria assisting with recovery and helping out my fellow country men.
The devastating impacts of the fires left many homeless and with no where to go.
I have photos of damaged homes but I don't feel comfortable sharing those, I hope the images of the damaged terrain can show you how bad these fires were.
The below image is of the iconic Mallacoota dock where the Australian Defence Force rescued people as the fire burned close. Just in time.
Australian vegetation is also unique in its ability to heal from fire. The animals unfortunately are not so fortunate.
It's amazing how entire forests were destroyed but single trees were spared.
