WOLLONGONG 2050
The City of Wollongong has grown aggressively over the years, steadily transforming from a regional centre with just under 300,000 in the early 2020’s to a city boasting just under one million residents. It’s for this growing populace that the city has undertaken a rejuvenation, turning the city into something unrecognisable to its inhabitants.
The crown jewel of the projects is the Song of the Sea Arts centre, a literal translation of what Wollongong in the tongue of the Aboriginal nation that had lived in the region. Its smooth structure glistens under the sun as it rises uncontested in the sky, a beautiful structure, its position upon North Beach on reclaimed Land leaves it a true icon of the rising city.
