Years ago i visited Australia with my brother. I was 19, and it was 1989. We flew in to Cairns and promptly went out on a 3 day scuba trip to the Great Barrier Reef. Memories of Huge fish, underwater gravitational freedom, Giant Clams (huge motherfuckerz, like as big as a car wheel) and riding sea turtles will forever be imprinted on my mind.
We bought a car for $1,000 -- a 1977 ford falcon station wagon, with 3-on-the-tree and a clutch, and, the bloody steering wheel on the right-hand side of the car! We drove on the left side and until just now i didn't know why... obviously it's so you can high-five your mates as you pass them on the road -- or is that for a cheers of VB's? Either way, it took a little getting used to, but that's cool.
We travelled clock-wise around that great big land, stopped in Surfer's Paradise and went to a Hunters & Collectors concert in Coolangatta (sp?) which we renamed cool-and-gotta-getta-beer... i'm sure we weren't the first. Then Fraser Island, the Whitsundays, Brisbon, Canberra, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, and then out across the surface of the moon for three-four days (the nulabour) before arriving in Perth. Wish i had been a stacker then!!! The Perth mint is legendary!
I think i could ramble on for hours -- so many good things and good people come back to mind
But all this is not what I even came here to post... a couple days ago i replied to a post titled 'Team Australia needs your help'. It was a call for help with graphics, leaflets, curator stuff, a call out for members' abilities and the like. And so i replied with gusto. I had had a few pints and some "bush tucker" by that point.
I promised that i would make a post about one of my most favourite Australian phenoms. And so, i present Bon Scott and the most notorious rock and roll band to hail from that gorgeous jem of Oceania -- AC⚡️DC
Look at this gorgeous creature!
I must say, that despite their extremely humble beginnings, and playing small shows in small venues, this band has gone on to become the real rock and roll house band of world -- yeah yeah the Stones, They're great too, but AC⚡️DC delivers the straight meat&potatos Rock like none other.
Check it out, who can argue that:

Oh boy, i could just keep posting them: Highway to Hell, Live Wire, Gone Shootin', Hell ain't a bad place to be, Ride On and the list truly goes on... and that's just the extra tasty songs with Bon Scott. After that legend passed in 1980, Brian Johnson took over and the tribute album Back in Black went on to be one of the top selling LP's of all time -- right up there with Sgt. Peppers and Thriller.
I won't add any vids of the new stuff -- it's all easy to find -- but the above i posted just 'cause they're a little more obscure for some people -- and they fucking rock!
