This is a relatively new collection I've been working on. I'm trying to pick up some older gold from different countries around the world.
I love the history and the different color tones the gold has from the varying purities in which they're composed
First is my favorite coin. This is a 1912 Canada gold coin. Canada's first official gold coin.
These were struck between 1912-1914. It's .900 fine gold content and weighs .2419 of an oz troy. Just under a quarter oz of gold and the same dimensions and weight as a British Sovereign. They also feature King George on the obverse
Maybe I should have showed this one first? It's a 1911 Canadian gold sovereign. These are relatively limited mintage and sought after by collectors. I just got it because I'm Canadian
The only trait that differentiates this coin from any other Sovereign is the tiny "C" mint mark at the bottom of the reverse.
Next up is this American $2.5 coin called the Quarter Eagle. It's dated 1927 and features the American Indian Head design
This is 4.18 grams of .900 fine gold. It features the eagle on the back symbolizing freedom
This piece is the French 20 francs. It was minted at the Paris Mint and is .1867 of an oz. The coin is .900 fine gold
They call em gold rooster coins for some reason?
Next and definately one of my nicest conditioned coins is the Austrian 1 ducat. It's .987 fine gold which is a very high purity compared to other similar coins. It is 0.1122 of an oz. It is also thinner than most coins it's wieght but it gives the coin a nice eye appeal
I love the color of this coin it is a bright yellow. The coat of arms is just badass! This coin could be a restrike as it's dated 1915. I'm not entirely sure to be honest? Either way it's a nice piece
Lastly, to end my humble showcase of world gold is the Swiss 20 franc. This one like other 20 franc coins from around the world is .900 fine gold and weighs .1867 of an oz
I'm a big fan of the European gold and I think my next piece will be one from Hungary. The reverse of this piece has the Swiss seal. It's pretty simple design also leads to its appeal I find. It's dated 1930
That's it for my little collection. I have one piece coming that is from Russia and I'll share that with you all when it arrives.
I'm having alot of fun with these and i appreciate you taking a look.
Have a great day!
