It was after the Gondola, we arrived back in the small Tourist Mecca of Banff. We didn't do much 'in town' stuff because it just means spending money and that's the last thing we needed to do. I wandered around for a bit with my camera and caught site of a global expedition vehicle entitled the 'bliss mobil.' It was the first one of three I would spot on the trip. I would certainly roll around in a bliss mobil of my own if I ever could have the opportunity. Speaking to one of the owners of these behemoths, I was surprised to learn that their vehicle was burning less Miles per Gallon than the Bitcoin Express. And I certainly tend to lug around enough stuff to warrant such a beast 😛
The same day, we visited Lake Louise, but once again the conditions weren't optimal. I mean Lake Louise in any season is pretty spectacular, but there are certain days, even seasons where it's a bit more majestic. Both times I've seen Lake Louise it was covered in ice. This time, it was just mostly covered in ice but I'd love to catch it in the summertime, with the amazing colour that it has, like most of those mountain and glacier lakes. An Amazing azure blue. I also tried to get us to go further North, to Abraham Lake, but we ended up deciding we would go on the way back. Which also never ended up happening. I found at the end of the trip, it just seemed like some mad rush to get back to Ontario. At first, my dad was all I'm going to take my sweet time! We'll be back in the middle of July. However, I think homesickness or whatever set in for him and he just returned to the "GO GO GO" mentality and drove until we ended up back in Ontario. At which point, it dawned that the trip was nearing it's completion and the return to 'regular life' was imminent. At that point, it seemed like he wanted to stop at every little nook and cranny again. While Ontario is beautiful, I don't think it's quite as beautiful as the Coastal Parts. Anyways, I was also a bit worn out near the end and just tended to go along with whatever my parents wanted. But still, it would have been nice to see Abraham Lake I guess. Alas, I suppose I will just have to return there of my own accord in the near future.
