What a better way to start a weekend than watching a live Stand-Up Comedy? Last week Friday, I had the opportunity to watch Malaysia’s Godfather of Stand-Up Comedy, Harith Iskander performed live in Tiara Labuan Hotel. Harith is not only the Godfather of Stand-up Comedy in Malaysia but he also won the Laugh Factory's Funniest Person in the World 2016 which was held in Finland. This event was Harith Iskander’s last pit stop of #KitaOK Live Comedy Tour in 2018 as well as Fund Raising Dinner and Show by the Labuan Society.
Before that, let me thank my dear friend
for inviting me and
to join her and few other friends to watch Harith Iskander’s live comedy. I have watched Harith perform live twice before this and I know that Harith is so good that people will laugh till they crack their ribs!
People always say, “Third time’s a charm” and yes..my third times watching Harith’s performance is extra special because this time, I have the “Meet & Greet” Pass!! OMG! I had have the opportunity to meet & greet & of course take photo with Harith Iskander!!!
So, when I arrived at the event venue, there are many people outside queueing up to enter the hall. So,
and I decided to take the opportunity to take photo at the photo booth while waiting for
to arrive. We bumped into other fellow Labuan steemians at the photo booth and well… Labuan Steemians Group Photo session it became! Lols...
,
,
, myself
and
(notice that all of us smile like Harith??..hehehe)
Once I entered the hall, I was so surprise to see the hall was completely filled up with people who are anticipated to watch Harith’s performance. Who wants to miss a performance by the winner of Laugh Factory’s Funniest Person in the World right?
The event which was supposed to start at 8.30pm started off a bit late than scheduled but it’s okay! The event was kicked start by the emcee of the night, Kavin Jayaram. Kavin is also a Malaysian comedian himself.

Then, we were entertained by another 2 comedians Muzakir Zainal and Prakash Daniel. They have their own style of performing their comedies but I would say they did very well at the show’s opening act.

After that, without further ado, Kavin J announced that it’s time for the big man himself to come on stage. The crowd started to cheer and applause and started taking photos too! We were allowed to take as many pictures as we want but not a video, which is totally understood.

Harith Iskander performing Live in Labuan
This time, Harith’s comedy focused on the true meaning of being Malaysian, the history of how Malaysia is formed, story of how Parameswara founded Melaka and above all, no matter what torn us apart as Malaysian, in the end we are still OK (Kita Ok) and we stay united.
It may sound serious here but Harith certainly did a good job by using his humuor to present Malaysia’s history. It felt like your teacher teaching History subject combined with jokes that the whole class laughing non-stop! How I wish my teacher did the same like what Harith did during the History subject when I was in secondary school..(dreaming)…
Harith ended his performance by singing a "Kita Ok" (we are okay) song. All the audiences were so sporting and sang together with him.
Audiences sang along and waving the Malaysian Flag

Once the performance ended, we all exited the hall and once again, queued up to meet up with Harith personally...

I certainly enjoyed the show, not only from Harith Iskander himself but also by the three other comedians, Kavin J, Muzakir Zainal and Prakash Daniel. As far as I could remember, I think I've never laughed that much in one night!!! It was certainly a night to remember and I believe all the audiences left Tiara Hotel Labuan with big smile and great memories.
I guess that's it for this post and till we meet again in another post!
