Anyways, so A had a swim meet in Melaka which according to Waze is around 160 kms from KL and was going to take me about 1 hour 40 minutes. So call time was 6.50 a.m. for warm up, but because there were a couple of last minute things to pack, and of course I had to have my coffee before driving I was up by 2.30 a.m. Got everything sorted out and off we went with E tagging along.
So long story short, Day 1 done, D joined us just as we were ready to leave the pool at 6.30 p.m. with the other two and off we went to the hotel. My in-laws had checked in a couple of days earlier as they were on holiday and decided on Melaka as we were going to be there.
We did the usual unpacking, showered and went to have dinner just across the road. Walking back to the hotel, I kept complaining that the room was cold. And true enough as soon as we walked in, I could feel the chill. D agreed and brought the temperature up. After about half hour, A started saying that everything was wet. And it was true, the mirrors, table tops and even the walls had a thin layer of vapour/condensation.
In the midst of this, the kids kept going between our room and my in-laws room. My SIL was chatting with us in our room and when the kids walked back in, she was surprised. She was very sure she had locked the door. But the kids just pushed it open and walked in. She tried to shut it a couple of times, but it wouldn't latch.
While all this was happening, I was also trying to get the kids especially A who still had another full day of swimming to sleep. And he being a typical 13-year-old tried watching TV, talked to his siblings about nothing and finally we had to do something because it was almost midnight and he needed to be up by 6 a.m. latest. D tried to switch off the lights, but couldn't. So he pulled the main key card to switch off everything, and then inserted it back in again. However all the lights wouldn't come back on. The one and only was the light at the entrance.
A was still walking around, talking about how wet everything was. And we were calling housekeeping to come have a look. Housekeeping came, tried everything and finally told us, they will be moving us into another room. That we could leave our things in the current one since we couldn't really see, and come back the next day to pack. And the new room was across this one.
I was reluctant as we would still need to pack some of the things, and I was trying to finish my FourPlay post. So I told D, because it was almost midnight, we should just stay put. And in the morning, everything will be nice and bright and we can then move if we needed to. . Now even as we were having this discussion, the picture on the wall, above the bed, just fell off and landed on A who had finally climbed into bed.
OK, I am very sure there is a logical answer to all of this, but I figured why tempt faith or anything for that matter. So, even though I had started with FourPlay, I had to tell you this first and FourPlay will be posted tomorrow.
So, what do you think happened? Is my mind making things up. Also, surely it is not related but E is really sick, throwing up real bad.
(I am editing this is in the morning, and all through the night he was in a lot of pain, but he is ok now).
