Bonjour !
Apa khabar ? Comment allezvous? I was in Tunis for eight fabulous days and it left me with a plethora of thoughts, impressions and memories.
The first morning sun shines bright and the enticing aroma of fresh crispy croissant with delicious shakshouka, and eggs with tomato sauce for breakfast starts my day.
I envisioned Tunisia in different aspects and fancy kindling some adventures and romance in the land of sweeping dunes, Sahara Desert, the Ottoman influences, the Mediterranean Sea and the Roman ruins.
Excitement welled up in me as I looked forward to explore the heart of this versatile country. We drove from the Movenpick Hotel Gammarth Tunis to the ruins of the legendary Carthage and the breathtaking view on top of the Byrsa Hill overlooking the Mediterranean Sea for my first Punic experience.
With a history that stretches back nearly three millennia, Carthage was once a mighty seat of the Roman Empire, and home to over half a million inhabitants. This ruins strewn Carthage will delight those with an interest in history.
Wait for my next posting on the ruins of the greatest military commanders in history, the Great Hannibal !
Till then, Cheers :)
