The memories are still fresh in my head. For one, the haze was getting really bad and all of us were in masks. Even on the day of the wedding. Though it got a little better and we could take video outside.
The wedding week kicked off with people starting to arrive from Vancouver. My cousin and my brother were the best men. I thought that Tim might get a little help from Chris. So he wouldn’t feel so burdened.
I broke away with tradition and had the best men there for my wedding. I think it started to all glue together when both of them arrived on a weekend in Kuala Lumpur a week before the wedding on a Saturday.
If it was the 21st of September that of my wedding, it would be the 15th that Tim and family arrived. My grandma who is 90 over years old attended my WEDDING! She flew from Vancouver all the way across the globe to attend MY WEDDING!! AHH!!!! Chill...My auntie was also there with Tim and my grandma. On the 16th, my brother arrived.
We had a few days together eating, chatting and talking about wedding preparations. My cousin had already prepped his speech months before. I had barely prepped the speech. We didn’t even prep any dancing or singing. But let’s not get there just yet. It was a Wednesday that we went back to Penang from KL. I think it was just my mom, BabyBoo and I that drove home in my car. The rest took the bus back to Penang and it was good.
Bachelor’s Party
The Bachelor Party was Tim, my brother, Jaye and I.
Yes! We tried to get more people to come to the party. But I guess everybody is just busy with their own lives.
I was hoping and really hoping that my BFF would make it to the party. But he was busy with work and was outstation too.
So, it was just 4 of us boys.
The party was simple and I don't even know whether it is even a party. 4 guys hanging out, having dinner at The Ship, going out for drinks at a bar, and having a 1-night stay at The Hard Rock Hotel. That was it.
Wifey was even there to stay. She and Jaye's wife joined us for dinner at The Ship.
Yeah.... The Bachelor's Party had girls there. Like fiance and groomsman's wife.
Compared to the normal standards of a Bachelor's Party, you can not get any more squeaky clean than this.
The Hard Rock Cafe was having some kind of function that night. We went to the bowling alley which also was having a function.
That night we just hung out a bar and talked. That was it... we went back to the hotel to play games into the wee hours of the morning with fiance and J's wife.
We got some sleep, missed breakfast and then got a Hard Rock hotel massage at the spa. There, the masseur sold me Hard Rock and how I can get a free stay with the points I collect if I was a member.
When the party was over, it was already Friday. That is wedding eve. We had a room at the Evergreen Hotel's suite as my wedding dinner was there at the hotel. So, we got a free stay.
The fiance was in a place nearby from AirBNB as she is from Ipoh. Her whole family was put up there.
There was a lot of miscommunication.
Things were misplaced. Trips were made up and down to get stuff in order. People were shuffling here and there.
That very day, when I was at the hotel, the whole hotel was filled with soldiers of some kind. A lot of soldiers in uniform from abroad was putting up at our hotel.
There was also a concert with big names from Taiwan that were also supposed to have a concert that Saturday. But later turned out it was a no show and a lot of people were complaining. The poster was at our hotel.
We sent David home after Michelle, came to our house to pick things up and get things in order.
That night, I wrote my speech. There was a lot of shouting because my brother seemed like he was not liking my speech. I wrote all the stuff down on paper because we knew that I could go off track and say something more than I should say.
So, that whole night I was rehearsing my speech. The entire night with no sleep.
There was still a lot of stuff missing.
Mom and my brother were up all night finding things that were missing on the list.
We were shuffling all the soft toys from home to the hotel.
The sun rose, and the videographer together with the make up artist arrived.
Mom was missing in action.
To be continued...
