We have been privileged enough to have received back another FINEST Known Graded South African coin of South Africa.
In 1961 South Africa became a Republic on the 31st May. Due to this South Africa started producing their 1st decimal series. In this series they made millions of each coin per year between 1961 to 1964, which was the period the 1st decimal series was in circulation.
As we have learnt, there is a hidden gem in almost any series of coins produced. In this 1st decimal series of South Africa the 1962 2 1/2 Cent (fondly remembered as a ticky). There were only 12 589 minted in 1962 which makes it quite scarce and sought after among collectors.
We have been blessed enough to have been able to grade out one at MS 67 which makes it a finest known grade as graded by NGC and listed on the registry. This makes it a gem to have in a collection.
I have attached some photos for you to see this beauty!
