Those pics were taken on my Sunday’s walk at the Virginia Water Park too. It features one of the greatest remaining futures in the Royal Landscape is this beautifully untamed ten-meter cascade. It was first constructed in the 1750s, approximately north of the eastern end of Virginia Water, in keeping with the era's vogue for adding attractive features to wild settings. A grotto and an avenue were built nearby. In 1768, a powerful storm washed all of this away. Thomas Sandby, the architect for King George III, meticulously rebuilt this cascade and a new grotto that is now shut off in the late 1780s.
Happy Tuesday everyone! 😍
