When pain becomes the only well from which you draw strength, and tears become your only motivation, where is the place of peace and joy? What is left of perseverance and courage?
When i was little, life used to be related with hope, strength, health, will power, fulfilment. As an adult, i was unceremoniously launched into a world where life is better explained by pain, failure, defeat, frustration and confusion.
Everyone today wants to inspire and motivate others, so they teach you things they most times do not believe in or have any idea about. They give you theories and then step back to learn the practical from your own experience. Lolz... So lemme guess, they don't do it, but they teach you who does it how to do it?
Now many have lost faith in people, they set up principles with the hope that the thought of them standing up for themselves could generate some form of strength or defence, or at least fortitude to hold together their shattering hearts. They so adapt to the agony that the thought of victory becomes strange or even scary. So weakness becomes the new strength, restlessness becomes the new peace, misery turns out the new hope!
It would take a rather deeper look to discover that the brightest smiles are bred from shattered hearts, the best companions are born from loneliness, the warmest hugs come from the most abused arms.
But then, you might also not understand why the worst acts of hatred come from the most loving, or the most worrisome grudges from the purest hearts, or the strongest refusals from the most willing.
Everyone is trying to brave the world. Most times only they truly understand, so they try to do it on their own. No wonder one simple song can bring smiles out of some, and tears from others, or why a word mends one and breaks another.
So I was trying to understand which part is harder for a child. Having them parents spank you into maturity, and you want to grow responsible and crown them legends... But then you watch your heroes grow frail.... One after the other....
They play strong and say it's fine. But no, it's not fine, it's never fine. You want them to stay!
What would you rather do?
Whose life would you rather take?
So you think to yourself, i may not be who the world expects me to be, but i was born of my mother, and i am my father's son! Maybe i will wake up tomorrow and want more, but for today, that's all i want to be.
Many of the questions that arise here are rhetoric, you don't get all the answers, you just grow out of the questions. But i'll suggest you hold onto your believes, and set yourself free!
This one's for the boy Terry.
