7900xtx is disappointing and less performance than AMD claimed to be, basically they lied. The add in board models are basically the same price as a 4080 so right now it's actually making the 4080 look like a good option which is quite the achievement considering the 4080 is one of the worst priced cards of all time. 7900xt is even worse at 10% less money but like 20% less performance so most people are choosing to not buy it unless they're desperate because it's easily available.
Basically it's pretty much a flop and we're all waiting for the price cuts and the mid-range cards to drop.
If I was impatient and wanted to buy something now I would just lurk around until I spotted a 6800 XT at like $500 or less
Or a 6900 XT at $650 or less
Personally I'm still going to wait until about next summer until all of the mid-range cards are out like the 7800 XT and the 4070
Only then can I make a proper decision
A 7700xt with 6950xt performance at like $500 would be pretty appealing
I kind of doubt it's going to happen though, there's really not enough room. I'm also looking forward to see if rx 7600xt can beat rtx 4060 next year.
