Hey people of the world, with me taking a look at a video about whether gold will disappear and cryto currency will take over , it got me thinking - could we fully function with this little thing called the internet ?
Let me guess with most people , get up , turn phone , tablet, laptop , computer etc , wait for it too ping , get disappointed when no one likes your photos on a certain social media sites, go out travelling turn your app on , ask a automated speaker to go to toilet , oh it is endless them possibilities !
What do you do when you need info on anything ? Turn to the internet , and yes I do it too , but what did we do before this , looked around , talk to people , look in a dictionary , read the encyclopaedia ?
Would you feel lost , isolated, if your connection went down for a few days and not even no mobile internet , when the internet goes down for whatever reason in our house lets just say it is the end of the world as we know it, with calls of " whats going on, have I paid the bill, I am bored " does that sound familiar ?
Are we getting increasingly reliant on a box with a flick of a switch your own provider could turn your info gold mine off, yes I am on the internet but I do not get angry or feel lost when something happens.
Do not get me wrong the internet is and can be great thing connecting people around the world , info , buying things, but young people especially have you ever wrote a letter by hand with a pen and paper to be sent to someone , pen pals were great , the excitement of waiting for a letter , photos of people and there home land, spelling may be a bit rubbish but what the heck.
Mobile internet can be good if your lost , need something fast - the downfall, data has been used or phone battery power has gone- what then, oh yes people look at each other , no facetime at the dinner table !
Businesses would be at a lost if the internet went down , even for ten minutes , what about me writing on here , I could not put this trivial post out , people stuck on there phones taking pictures of anything , telling people when there went , what there bought , making people feel inferior , yes the knock on effect of the internet , remember in the hey day if we had something new to tell , we would ring them up , post a letter.
Is the internet a big thing for you , could you live without it, would we cope without it ?
Would the world shut down , would generations know how to live without it, in years to come will we step out of our comfort zone at all ?
