Day 1 of 2 of the TechEx Europe 2023 has officially kicked off today in Amsterdam. The events host presentations, exhibitions, stalls, and networking opportunities for various tech projects and businesses in the sphere of AI, blockchain, cyber security, cloud, and more.
This year, HIVE is a sponsor of the event, specifically the networking bar. Believe me when I tell you I was totally awestruck at the beautiful design of the HIVE networking bar. It is in the center of the blockchain and crypto related stalls, bringing people from common backgrounds into it for a quick coffee break or a long networking session.

Exactly 1 week back, I made this tweet. I have been genuinely happy about HIVE, be it the chain or its dApps, being promoted in many different places. This level of intensity is something I have never seen before. Yes, there were few appearances here and there, but in the last few months I have noticed so much more promotion of HIVE in different conferences all around the world...and I couldn't be more glad about it.
And just like that, as if manifestation worked its magic, I got the chance to attend one such event where HIVE is being promoted.
This was designed by and what a splendid job she did.
She had to say this about her work on twitter (x)

Dynamic is right! Eye-catching is an understatement. Everyone passing through the bar took a good look at the design and hopefully it will etch into the memory of many.
I loved the action prompting slogans on the design. Clear, bold, and straightforward summary of the chain - "Fast. Scalable. Powerful."
But my favorite part was the slogan that stood out in bright red color - "owned by you."
A slogan makes or breaks the entire promotion. Nike's "JUST DO IT" and apple's "THINK DIFFERENT" are masterclass examples of effective slogans in terms of action prompts. "OWNED BY YOU" is a perfect way to grab the attention of the viewer and make them think.
I reached there just as the event was warming up. It gave me an exeptional chance to scout for stalls that I'd like to talk to. The different diaces had already started with presentations and I took a quick look at some that were interesting.
After a quick round of the entire hall, I decided to start breaking the ice as I could not any longer hold myself back from not connecting with others. I concluded to first connect with people that genuinely intrigued me. It's the same principle I follow on HIVE.
I met with Daniel, and had a pretty lengthy chat with about things that were mutual to us. For a few years now, he and his company are working with major banks and businesses globally. They work on finding solutions and bridging these solutions with blockchain, fully catered to the client's needs. Albeit, they work closely with Ethereum and have a strong relation with them, I was genuinely interested in seeing what he thought about utilising HIVE blockchain and coming up with solutions that could benefit both his business and his clients. We reached a point where we agreed that at this time, verofiable results are a differentiating factor in determining the true strength of a blockchain. And I had lots of results to show him. We exchanged info, and I caught up with the other HIVE'rs.
I also had an amazing chat with Abdulhamed. They are a growing team and have come up with their own idea of implementing the growing market of blockchain and cryptocurrency in middle eastern countries where values and principles may be, in many cases, different. This was truly an eye opening moment for me. He showed me a blind spot that I had never noticed before. A side of the world that needs something different compared to the current available tokenomics and principles. The great thing is, and which led to us settling down on a date for a future meeting was that both him and I agreed on the fact that HIVE has exactly what he is looking for - a community led chain, that puts the community first, rewards it, and leads it to more on the social impact side of things. I showed him how he could use HIVE to not only help the Moroccans, who recently faced an unfortunate event, but also empower the communities that already exist there and lead teams of volunteers...all through the HIVE blockchain. Splendid chats with these guys.
Later on, our gave a presentation on the social impact of HIVE. He spoke about the hive bore holes and how it has created a world of change in the villages. The presentation really invoked a lot of positive response and many people came through to ask what could be best said as: "how can we collaborate with you?".
Refuel time!
I got to meet Timothy, who also has an amazing plan with major potential of impact, change, and community growth. We had an amazing discussion about what his team is working on and why he prefers blockchain instead of big corp. I can see why he is hesistant to nosedive into HIVE - the fear of the unknown, I like to call it. However, he has an amazing untapped resource at his disposal - Ruben. Ruben can guide him, hand to hand, how to navigate and realize his dreams on HIVE. But the best way to beat fear is to face it. He is hesitant to try HIVE simply because he does not yet understand it. And that's why I left him with one message. "IF you feel like you're not ready for it, don't go full speed ahead, but just experiment with HIVE, take your time with it, and get a feel of it." After all, only if he experiences the blockchain first hand will he realisr the potential and decide to totally base his project on the hive chain.
Towards the end, and I teamed up to meet more people. That was fun. The way she speaks of HIVE, her passion, her ideas, personal goals, and her way of presenting it is so...pleasant.
Wonderful day 1. Now, to day 2!
