Hello Steemians
Welcome in the first #technofriday of the year. In the last episode you could read about our NYE Party. Today we can say that party was fine, but without any spectacular moments. We were expecting something more from that kind of special gig but whatever. We also wanted to start the new year hard, but instead of it, the new year started hard with us. Mr.Fox is now knocked down by the flu. As our New Year's expectations and plans failed quickly in the first days of the year, we are going to leave the rest of the year as liberated as always and focus on the music. Lots of different medicine mixed with marihuana is a background for the recent days with obscure sounds of dirty techno and electro. Perhaps positive vibes could bring more life into my shell, but my mood is simply rejecting it. Finding a pleasure in the unpleasant, Mr.Fox would like to share with you some informations about one of his favorite new-coming artists called
Identified Patient
source
Since his debut in the second half of 2016, he is associated with a new wave of artists exploring the boundaries of techno music, at a times of linear sounds of mainstream. Rough-edged, unpleasant music drifting fluently between acid, EBM, electro, industrial, post punk, techno and wave sounds is a trademark of Job Veerman aka Identified Patient, the young Dutch artist from Amsterdam.
Identified Patient - Vermoedens Van Achterdocht (PNKMN19)
Although very positive debut in 2016 on Common Thread recording label with 12" EP called The Female Medical College Of Pennsylvania, the real attention came with vinyl released on the legendary Pinkman label, already carefully reviewed by RAVING FOXES. That imprint, well known from future seeing and thinking, for the last five year has been able to grow exponentially and blurs borders of the wide range of obscure electronique serving the sounds of tomorrow. Identified Patient debuts with Weeshuis Der Verloren Zielen EP came with a claustrophobic and paranoic sounds tangled together acid lines and dusty, cranking percussion, pounding beats of sharp EBM and hypnotic vocals. First print of EP catalogued as (PNKMN19) is already sold out for a long time, but we have found information about upcoming repress on early January 2019 !
Identified Patient & Sophie du Palais - Peaceful Panic (PBD10)
Later the same year 2017, on December, we have received the second 12" vinyl from the same imprint, this one coming from the Pinkman Broken Dreams white label series, catalogued as (PBD10). The whole Aborting Your Dreams EP is richly decorated with the sinister and commanding vocals of Job Veerman's girlfriend Sophie du Palais, creating an infectious mood balancing between panic, paranoia, perversion and lust. Throughout the release, hazy percussion is carefully seasoned with the acid samples, bitter synth lines, drilling basses and a pinch of fetishism.
Identified Patient & Sophie du Palais - Nothing Happened (PBD10)
The first track, “Peaceful Panic” is in full seduction and fetish mode, setting the scene for the better corners. “Sleep Without Rest” violently tightens up the leather and gives you your kicks for thrills. The EP ends with frenzy: messed up intermezzos with Lasznikoff, mixing up an 808 with his destructive guitar rig and, as he states, “everything is done.”

Once again Identified Patient proved that he has the local sounds of Rotterdam and The Hague - Clone & Bunker - written in his DNA, dark-EBM-electro-techno aesthetic, blended together with a rough energy. Worth to mention is a fact that digital version contains a bonus track called Nothing Happened which is not included in the physical vinyl version.
Identified Patient - Stretch Out For Nothing (BT29)
On May 2018 Identified Patient together with Scarlit Port has released Split EP on the prolific London label Brokntoys which is pushing music on the rougher end of techno for already six years. On the A-side we have two hard-to-catalogue tracks from I-P. Obviously both are harsh, unpleasant, hypnotic and somehow nasty. On the B-side reserved for Scarlit Port - we can find fresh and energetic Touch U Without Touchin Ur Skin and repressed noisy/idm/techno Marg, released originally on the cassette with experimental material in Iran in 2017. If you would like to add it to your collection, you suppose to act fast because vinyl with these 4 tracks is limited to 300 copies.
Identified Patient | Boiler Room x Dekmantel Festival 2018
As Identified Patient stated, he is a completely different person performing as a DJ and as a Producer and he is trying to balance it more and more, for example by including his own released and unreleased material. Looking at the quantity of bookings, he seems to have found a niche which adores him in the legendary venues like Griessmuehle and Berghain in Berlin, De School in Amsterdam or Bar in Rotterdam. In the year 2018 we could find him in Germany, Netherlands, Switzerland, France, Spain, Italy, UK, Belgium, Austria, Greece, Denmark, Lithuania, Poland, Mexico and USA. If you are looking forward to hear him in 2019, you can find him at 5th of January in Amsterdam, smashing together with Ancient Methods, or next weeks in France, Austria, England and Netherlands. Also remember to keep an eye on the Pinkman label, where Identified Patient is going to release 10 tracks on 2x vinyl soon.
