Oooooooo baby! New Cirez D! Eric Prydz's dark alias dropped a new EP on us titled DARE U off the label Mouseville. I caught a Cirez D performance at CRSSD 2016 (I think) in San Diego and that shit hit me like a ton of bricks. Eric Prydz goes EXTRA hard when he dons the Cirez alias. I don't think he played much of his own stuff but the tracks he was spinning and the way he was doing it was next level! He didn't even have an over the top light show like his normal gig.
Out of the three tracks below, I think my fave is "Black Hole". It's just that groovy simplicity, and I'm a sucker for songs that have a bouncey element. I'm sure some remixes will come out where they throw in a few more bells and whistles, right now it feels like it could use something extra to take it over the top. That's just my opinion. DARE U is pretty solid too! Reminds me of the kind of distorted techno pieces you hear in Richie Hawtin's sets and on the tracks of his labelmates on Minus. I just haven't fallen in love with "The Glitch" yet.
