A bug with Cloudflare has put sensitive data at risk for anyone that uses a site that runs the CDN. Please check out this site to check if you used a site where you entered a password on banking info that was vulnerable: http://www.doesitusecloudflare.com/
Uber, Reddit, Yelp, Digital Ocean, OKCupid, RapGenius, Coinbase, Product Hunt, Udemy, Crunchyroll, FitBit, Hacker News, Zendesk, Discord, Github pages, and Chocolatey and all sorts of websites used Cloudflare for DDOS protection however they used a centralized service with vulnerabilities that were kept quiet about which has become a big deal. Patreon has already been hit with a database leak that leaves users that depend on their service to make a living at risk. Steps need to be taken toward decentralized and FOSS software in order to have a stable, reliable, and secure future for the internet. With centralized systems, they are as secure as their weakest link and when the code is hidden away; exploits and victims become a possibility. It is time for a new Patreon where transactions and data are on a secure blockchain. As the inevitable failures of proprietary central systems come to light; it may just be what kicks developers into developing decentralized apps built on cryptography.
