So, wether you are invoice creator, graphic designer or a developer you need a workstation. A workstation has become something necessary for for countless people around the world. It's were you'll spend most of your time throughout the day, and perhaps some days even after 5 o'clock. That means to workstation needs to be comfortable, while still keeping you focused and interested in what you are working on. Creating the perfect workstation will obviously be different for everyone, but I hope this post will help you with some decisions throughout the way.
A good place to start would be at the furniture. Skipping the designer brands will save you and your wallet quite some stress. Heading for something like IKEA might be a better idea. They have countless options for everyones taste. Starting of with a basic white ( personal favorite ) tabletop will run cheap and look really neat ones paired with the "Oddvald" or "Lerberg" leg units. Picking up something in the looks of a "Alex" drawer will give you a good amount of storage for all your paper work and technical accessories. Finish up the furnishing with a well sized "Rissla" desk mat to keep your desk scratch-free and give you some space for storing private papers and important reminders. Adding some green details and a desk lamp for some soft light and natural vibes.
Now, this section is somewhat of a more difficult task. You might, or might not be on the outlook for new gear. If you don't plan on upgrading your peripherals I totally understand you. But keeping that 4:3 aspect monitor might not be the most convenient play you've done. I would more than anything recommend investing in a bigger monitor. Upgrading to height adjustable 16:9 monitor would be my first suggestion. It really creates more space for creativity and adjustability for better ergonomics. Now, you can stick with your current computer, mouse & keyboard if you feel comfortable with that. On the other hand, investing will always help you in the long end. As with everything else. Wether it's about health, economy or productivity.
I hope I could inspire and/or help some people today - and I would be more than thankful if you could share this article. As you might have discovered already, this is my first post in this really interesting and stimulating community.
Now let's get to building!
