Throwback :
Just few months ago I got the opportunity to visit one of the largest corporations in the computer industry. I visit the company that bought over IBM Computers , which is Lenovo. I felt thankful for the amazing opportunity; I mean how many people get to visit them and talk to the senior managers? I get to talk to PEOPLE BEHIND THE SCENES! THE THINK TANKS! How cool is that? I did visited their factory too but pictures are prohibited, sorry guys.
I was at their cafeteria and the person right in front of me is the Strategic Planning Manager! When I asked him, “How does Lenovo compete in the market? Everyone knows it has to better, faster, lighter” I still remember the answer given till this day, "The technology is always there, every computer industry knows the future of technology before it is created, but now it is a matter of who will be the first to market that technology. But sometimes, it is better not to be the first one to test the market, because the customers may take time to be familiar to it. It is all about the right timing, and you need a good marketing team"
So what other factors that are important?
“DATA & SALES. Sales will come first no matter what, because if there are no sales, the company would not survive! But in order to satisfy our customers to ensure that they will continue trusting Lenovo, we need to provide good services; and data is important for us to achieve that. By having data, we know what our customer’s preferences are” Conclusion: simply amazing and it always reminds me about the importance of strategies. Never give up, never quit, you may not be able to achieve now, but when the right time comes, you go for it.
