Dear Steemit Friends,
About two weeks ago, I unboxed and reviewed the Ovente 3.2QT Multi-Function Digital Air Fryer which turned out to be a must-have appliance, especially for people who wanted a healthier solution to satisfy their fried food cravings. After a couple of days of that posting and enjoying some fried food-goodness, Ovente reached out to let me know that they would be sending their 1.5L BPA-Free Glass Electric Kettle for me as a gift for purchasing their fryer and providing a review. Without any doubt, I provided my shipping information and a couple days later, my Kettle had arrived.
The packaging was like most shipments - packaged in a cardboard box and secured in place using cardboard inserts. Below is the DTube link as well as the Youtube link to my unboxing video.

As you can see from the video above, unboxing the Kettle was not a very difficult task. It's not an appliance that comes with a lot of accessories and parts and is very easy intuitive and easy to set up. The best part of this - it was free!
The Ovente 1.5L BPA-Free Glass Electric Kettle retails for $19.99 at Amazon and is designed with a high-class look and feel. Not only is it affordable, but high performing as well - at least from my initial tests, which you can see in the videos above as well.
Setup is easy and using it is as quick as pressing the power button on the handle itself. The kettle will boil your water in just a matter of minutes and is perfect for individuals that love quick tea breaks, instant coffee, oatmeal, and instant noodles. It is one of the best-designed kettle's I have seen to date and is big enough to accommodate a good amount of water.
Overall Design
The Kettle is comprised of mostly high-quality glass with a durable plastic base, handle, and lid. The plastics are heatproof so you don't have to worry about getting burned when handling the kettle. It is built in a way that allows for easy spill-proof pouring of liquid and has a built-in filter at the pouring end in order to separate solid particles such as tea leaves and/or coffee grinds from flowing into your cup. It has a string of LED lights to illuminate the inner housing, not only as a nice aesthetic feature but to serve as a feature to allow you to pour your liquids in dimly lit areas to maintain visibility of the liquid you are boiling and to avoid any nasty spills. As mentioned previously, the appliance is well built and very durable.
The kettle itself sits on a rotating power base which provides the power that the kettle needs in order to heat the liquid. This design allows you to access the kettle at any angle and is convenient because it allows you to remove just the kettle whenever you feel the need to refill your cup without having to unplug the device. When you are done, you can simply sit the kettle back on the base and continue to heat your liquid. The on/off button is on the kettle itself so turning it on and off is as easy as flipping a switch. The base also has a storage space on the bottom allowing you the option of being able to wind up the power cord and store it out of sight.
Performance
The KG83B is designed with a 1000W heating element. On my first use (as seen in the videos above) I was able to boil half a glass of water in less than a few minutes. The water itself started to boil almost instantly at the 1.5-minute mark - this thing works fast! The heating element itself is hidden and lays under an aluminum plate which means better durability since it is not exposed to water and won't collect and mineral deposits or decay. On the manufacturer's website, it is said to be 85% more efficient compliances versus other competitor brands and your standard stovetop kettle.
The instructions included were basic and I ended up not using them. This appliance is easy to figure out and simple to use. It has a user-friendly design that will not leave you puzzled and frustrated. When the kettle is in use and boiling water, a blue LED ring surrounds the entire kettle - very hard to miss. On the handle itself has 2-buttons. 1 which releases the lid and "pops" it up and the 2nd second which is used to power the kettle on and off. They are clearly labeled so you won't mistake which button does what. Etched into the glass is a water level gauge so you know exactly how much water you are boiling each time you use the kettle.
According to the manufacturers website, there is a built-in safety feature for auto shutoff and boil dry protection to ensures that the kettle does not operate when there is no water to avoid any electrical issues. The kettle is also lightweight so that even a child can lift it, however, I would probably keep the appliance out of reach from children since you are essentially dealing with boiling water.

Overall, I am very impressed with the kettle, and not just because it was sent to me for free. It's a lightweight appliance that get's the job done well and very quickly and looks good doing it. I will use it a few more times and if all goes well, will order one for my parents, since they frequently drink tea and coffee. This would be the perfect gift for them - and it is very affordable.
I hope you enjoyed my review of the Ovente 1.5L BPA-Free Glass Electric Kettle. If your in the market for a lightweight, affordable, well-built appliance that will heat your liquids quickly, I would highly recommend the Ovente.
