It's estimated that 9 in 10 Americans are already using a variety of services, devices, and programs, that feature artificial intelligence to some extent.

Whether it be using something like Google Maps, Netflix, or some home assistant etc, there are many ways that we engage with artificial intelligence today. Some of us might be using it and not even know it.

Previous studies have discovered that roughly 3 out of 4 Americans believe artificial intelligence will greatly influence changes in society, as far as how we go about living our daily lives.

Of course, while there are many who boast about the benefits that we are already enjoying and that AI might further bring in the future, there are also those who've expressed meaningful concerns. And those worries center around possible unintended consequences that might arise as a result of rushing toward further innovation in this area.

There are many industry experts and others who have expressed concerns for the increasing prevalence of artificial intelligence being used.

However, those fears are also balanced by the excitement that many others have expressed, with regard to how AI might be able to enhance our way of living in many ways.

Despite all of the Terminator-influenced fears that many hold when they think about AI, industry experts insist that we shouldn't overlook the improvements that it might be able to bring about.

They suggest that those who are closely involved with development, investment, and research in this area etc, are also equally concerned about such unintended consequences arising in the future.

Many expect that along with the growing prevalence of AI we might also see a variety of new jobs created, along with promises that it'll improve a variety of services such as healthcare and much more.

According to a previous IDC report, it's estimated that the artificial intelligence market is expected to pass $46 billion in spending by 2020.

Along with the growth in this area, we have been told that we should expect to see more efficient business services arise as a result. AI might go on to help solve a myriad of new problems in the market. Also, by embracing AI further, it will likely help to free up a lot more time, because it will enable us to allocate the more mundane tasks to be done intelligent assistants etc.

Some are obviously more enthusiastic about the rise of AI than others.

According to a recent study from Conversica, it's believed that coastal cities in the United States might be more willing to embrace the coming AI future than those in Southern regions.

In a recent survey that involved over 2000 Americans, at least 50 percent of the respondents from coastal regions like New York and San Francisco, responded that they'd be excited about the growing prevalence of AI. As for the Midwest, it was about 19 percent that said they were excited. The South reported roughly 17 percent excitement at the prospect.

As for those who hate the idea, at least 27 percent in the Midwest said they weren't looking forward to it. With the South, about 33 percent said they thoroughly hated the idea. This is surprising to some, considering that many of these Americans have already embraced using AI in their daily lives.

When asked about what priority AI research and development should be focused on, many agreed that it should be healthcare.

About 51 percent of the respondents said that they wanted it to be focused on finding cures to disease. After that, respondents felt that it should be used to help alleviate traffic accidents, and possibly be used to help educate children. Only about 36 percent responded saying that they thought childhood education should be a priority for AI.
