In the article January Poll: What Technology Will Transform the World in 2018? its author, Joey Dupont asked a question and suggested five possible answers:

• 3D Printing
• Augmented Reality Glasses
• Autonomous Cars
• Hyperloop Train
• Robots and Artificial Intelligence

I am not diminishing these five categories.

I do miss the sixth possible answer:

Blockchain enabled services and solutions

I don't know if Joey was more oriented towards hardware side of up and coming technologies or perhaps he just didn't want to go into hype mode.

I do believe that 2018 will finally bring us useful cases of real life blockchain technology application.

I am not talking about cryptocurrencies. I am talking about utility in your actual daily chores and situations. It is a high time, after all.
