Microsoft might have declared its Windows Phone platform dead but the internet feels convinced that the tech giant is working on a foldable smartphone or tablet with dual working displays. Alleged to be the "Surface Phone", the phone is now in rumors again after Microsoft was recently awarded a patent for a foldable device.
But that's not all - enthusiasts have more than just patents filings to believe that the Surface Phone could be a real deal soon. Firstly, Microsoft really opened up positions for engineers who could work with both Intel and Qualcomm CPUs (presumably for a mobile platform). Secondly, a hidden code in the Whiteboard app hinted to a "journal" with "left and right pages" which gives enough fuel to the speculation.
It believed that the device will run both mobile and desktop apps. Foldable display, however, would be the hardest to master and there is no timeline speculated for the release.
