The Hungarian company Platio has developed a pavement photovoltaic cube. A pavement made of such cubes was built, among others in Netherlands, in Groningen, in front of the municipal town hall. The structure has an area of about 400 m2, consists of 2544 cubes and is expected to produce about 55 thousand kWh of energy per year. The photovoltaic cube has dimensions of 353 by 353 by 41 mm, weighs 6.5 kg, is covered with 10 mm thick tempered glass, the frames are made of recycled polymer composite. The ankle is covered by a five-year warranty. The special microcrack protection design allows a pressure of 2 tons. You can use it to build sidewalks, terraces, bicycle paths and even streets for cars up to 8 tons of total weight.
