Facebook has leaked about 9 million people's personal information. A 'Quiz App' has reached those data with a firm named Cambridge Analyte. Recently, the social media giant Facebook acknowledged this leak.
One of the first news reports in the US media revealed this leakage publicly. The report was believed to have leaked data of at least 50 million people. But Facebook itself said that the number is actually 870 million, which is much more than the initial concept.
Facebook has made this confession by posting online on Wednesday. They said 2,70,000 people downloaded the quiz app. And the information of those Facebook users and friends in their friendlist goes to a researcher. That information was handed out by Cambridge Analyca. It is also referred to as a Facebook directive.
Facebook also said that those who have leaked information will be notified in their news feed. Facebook will give that notification on April 9.
Over the past few days, Facebook was leaking information about this leak. Today, Facebook has updated their privacy policies. Facebook brings a new section, where Facebook users can share their phone information with the "upload, sync or import" option. It will be easy to find a friend.
