There Times when formatting a USB proves difficult due to some kind of virus or malware(yeah, there are several stubborn viruses that are programmed to frustrate users when the users detect them and then decide to format the USB drive). Worry no more for in just a few steps, you would get that stubborn drive formatted.
Steps To Follow:
Press Win + R key simultaneously(at the same time)
Type "cmd" without quotes please, then press Enter
Type format /q x: the x represents the location your drive in this scenario and then press Enter. This will initiate the formatting function and clean the drive getting rid of any sort of virus or malware.
Note: Your drive will be formatted to FAT32 but if you want a different format configuration, like the NTFS configuration, use this command 👇👇👇
type format /q x: /fs:ntfs
