UBER Elevate; taking to the sky!!
Our beloved company UBER is planning to take its services to the air. They plan to do this with Vertical Take off and Landing aircraft. These aircraft will be electric and is planned to be in operation by 2023!! This is within 5 years - amazing!! You will be able to get your flight on demand, by pushing a few buttons.
This sounds amazing, and could potentially reduce traffic in city centers. With no restrictive road capacity, trip time and congestion can be reduced drastically, as one can fly from A to B in a straight line, and don't have to follow roads. I just think the air traffic control will be a nightmare, as well as the regulatory environment controlling air traffic. UBER still has numerous hurdles to overcome, before this will become a reality - but the idea seems very interesting.
Rooftop spaces and unoccupied land near city centers are envisaged as take off and landing spaces as well as for charging batteries.
