Before our journey to gorgeous Fraser Island, we had to go shopping.
It was a simple run. We were on the prowl for one thing and one thing only. An umbrella.
Since is a bit on the pale and translucent side, it seemed like a good move to shelter her from the sun whenever possible.
We visited quite a few shops, and as it is with most things, they are everywhere... until you are looking to actively purchase one.
As we made one last desperate stop at a local Aldi's, something far more interesting than an umbrella was spotted.
Only the crew of The U.S.S. Minnowprize would go to the store for an umbrella and come back with a freakin' 3D printer.
Oh, and a new laser.
And about 3 kilos of fillament.
The envy of a small child in a shopping cart was made very evident. He looked to his father and said "SEE?! HE'S GETTING ONE!". We then heard the father and son whispering to each other followed by:
"MOM! Dad said we could have one! That's two against one!"
You go little dude, print your own toys! Be the future!
So far, we have printed:
And the top of a rocket!
Annnnnnnnd... this thing. That was supposed to be a ring.
As with any new tech, there is a learning curve.
Right now, we are printing the rest of the rocket model!
And we're streaming it!
