Picture this: You are sitting at a restaurant, absolutely hungry, waiting to grab that delicious burger but then you are given something special that you have never used.
How do you feel?
That’s exactly what McDonalds - the $100 billion fast food company - is doing right now. It is serving you something more - something that is very silly yet unique.
It's A Gadget Called Frork
Not fork. But frork. And this is how it looks:
What Frork does is very simple: it acts as a holder for your French Fries. You can fill in up to 3 French Fries at a time and then grab them one by one with your lips, as the entire public watches you.
Funny? Absolutely!
But that's not all.
Frork also has another feature that is so silly yet makes sense. What is it? Well, anytime you drop those toppings from the burgers, you can pick 'em up using...
You guessed it: FRORK!
It Gets Better Because It's Real!
McDonalds has also created an infomercial promoting this product. I was surprised when I first saw this and immediately wanted to know if such a thing exists.
Then while ordering food online, I called the local McDonalds store, only to get a response:
Sir, can you repeat that please?
Me:
After Googling, I found out the product is available only in the US. Plus, there's a limited supply of 100,000 of these gems.
Here's the video promoting Frork:
This Is Marketing Done Right
Of course, it is silly. Like a joke.
But you know how these things work, right? The sillier it is, the more attention it gets - at least online. The company is not wasting a ton of money in producing Frork, after all it is just cheap plastic.
But the benefits? Don't you think they are grabbing attention worth millions of dollars?
Heck, this is going viral as many journalists are trying to grab a Frork and post them just to, you know, show it off.
In reality, this is one of those things that will fade away very soon. But the history will remember it for it really is a dumb idea that makes us smile, no? :)
Or maybe say WTF!
