Facebook has dug itself a hole. By next week, this story will be worse.
Let's assume, from the political center, that the Democrats and Republicans didn't "collude" with Russia. Some players in both parties did stupid things, but neither side is a traitor (yes, that's the world I live in).
So who is the boogeyman?
Facebook is. Executives knew exactly what was going on in real-time, and they didn't do a thing. The worst player in this story isn't the politicians, it is the social media platform. They bent over backwards to make it easy for foreigners to interfere in US elections.
I think their troubles are only beginning.
