The Russian Stavropol region has made a very important step in the development of green energy. Just last week in the village of Staromarievka in the Grachevsky district of the region, the first two stages of the solar power plant were launched.
The solar Park consists of 87 000 PV modules, 20 inverter units of step-up substation 10/10/110 kV. All this allows to provide the energy needs of more than 28 000 people. Due to the renewable generation, the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions exceeds 6.3 thousand tons/year.
In 2020, the Staromaryevskaya solar power plant is expected to reach its full capacity (100 MW), with the amount of electricity generation of 122.6 million kilowatt-hours per year .
This solar Park will become one of the largest solar power generators in Russia. The press service of the Governor of the Stavropol territory noted, that the introduction of all wind and solar power complexes created in the region will produce up to 1.5 GW of electricity. This could account for up to 30% of all Russian renewable energy capacity.
